As an author, I feel it’s important to spend some money on promotion. I don’t expect my publisher to do all the work or foot all the bills. With that said, I’ve risked some money on a new video series. It’s an experiment I’m willing to try. You never know until you give it a shot.
The five-part video series is a tongue-and-cheek adventure about at a guy who’s reading FIRST TO KILL and comes up with an idea. It’s not a book trailer, it’s a lighthearted and interactive serial piece designed to generate interest in the Nathan McBride series. I had it professionally filmed with professional actors. It’s directed and edited by Sheila English of CoS Productions. I think she did a terrific job!
The hero of our video serial is not Nathan McBride, he’s just a guy embarking on an ambitious adventure.
He orders a ghillie suit through the mail and the adventure begins there. Viewers are invited to gather clues to determine what our actors are up to, and at the same, they’re entered to win free prizes.
