Book Description:
Bravery. Honor. Sacrifice. These are more than mere words to former Marine sniper Nathan McBride. He’s never backed away from danger, and he’s not about to start now, even if it means confronting the cold-blooded interrogator who tortured him to the brink of death more than a decade ago.
When a mutilated body is discovered in a remote Utah lake, it ignites a chain of events that forces Nathan to face a dark chapter from a past he’s worked hard to forget. Could his Nicaraguan enemy be active again? On American soil? The evidence is clear, but the stakes are higher than Nathan can know. In a showdown that will test Nathan’s understanding of justice and mercy, he’ll have to make a life or death decision that has the potential to expose and destroy people at the highest levels of government.
Hi Andrew,
I have enjoy both First to Kill and Forced to Kill. Looking forward to the next installment. Any idea when you will be publishing the next book.
Keep up the good work and writing.
Thanks
Thank you for the nice note, David. I’m glad you enjoyed the books. I’m working on book 3 and hope to have it ready by the end of the year.
Hi Andy, love your work, I think Nathan needs someone stronger than Holly for a love interest/ field partner.
she can’t do much W/ a cane
just sharing my thoughts from one writer to another.
(:
Hi Ryan, thanks for writing. Holly isn’t going to replace Harvey. Nate and Harv are inseparable in that regard!
What kind of writing do you do? It’s always nice hearing from a fellow author! Cheers!
Hi Andy I know Nate has Harv, but Holly is a fantastic character who kinda got shoehorned into the Oracle situation (Batman) I would as a reader rather see Harv & Nate have a female that can be a force to be reckoned with not saying get rid of Holly just asking for some new blood
My writing is similar to yours.
My character is a female Nate mixed with a little Tin Tin.
What do you think of Special Agent Grangeland? She’ll be back in future stories for sure.
I like the premise of your protagonist. Where can I find your work?
it’s unpublished but give me an email address and I’ll send it to your assistant!
Grangeland is holly’s antithesis weak, by the book and green towards Nate (AKA Holly at the beginning of First to Kill)
I’m not too analytical when I write. In other words, I don’t consciously assign roles to my characters, but it’s clear you’ve given this some thought (which is great.) Don’t worry about being unpublished, just write from the heart and make your stories personal to your protagonist. I don’t write novels with “global” stakes as the main story lines. Every book is personal to Nathan McBride. In First to Kill, the story was personal to Harvey and became personal to Nathan because of their deep friendship.

Hi Andy, I was just on Facebook and there is an Andrew Peterson fan page that claims “Like” to read chapter one of Option to Kill it says that you also “Like” the page. I’ve read a little and its awesome. Great title BTW. is this an official release?
It’s just a sample of a work in progress: Nathan McBride #3
Loved “First to Kill”! Just started reading “Forced to Kill” and it is fantastic so far! This author is the “real deal”! I have read so many books by various authors in the last few years (Connolly, Patterson, Koontz, Leverone, Prescott, Clancy, Browne etc.), and Peterson tops them all! Do yourself a favor, read these books!
Hi Kris, thank you for the nice post! I hope you have a great Christmas season with family and friends!
