The 90th Academy Awards are on Sunday, and seeing two wartime movies nominated this year—Dunkirk and The Darkest Hour—got me thinking about the most memorable, moving and powerful films that are centered around our own U.S. soldiers and military.
I asked my readers out on social media which ONE FILM would be their all-time favorite for Oscar®-worthy U.S. military-based movies and was amazed at the feedback! In no particular order, here is the list of our Top Iconic Ten.
Did your favorite make the cut, and what are your thoughts on this list? Are you watching the awards on Sunday? Who are some of your choices in the various categories?
Warning: some of these trailers may cause goosebumps.
